Lulua's Basbousa

Ingredients:

1 Thick Cream (Geshtat al Taj)

1 cup shredded coconut

1/2 cup semolina (sameed)

1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup melted butter or oil

1 Egg

Vanilla

3 tsp baking powder

3/4 cup sugar

Mix butter, egg, vanilla, sugar, coconut and the thick cream together, leave it for 5 minutes, then add the semolina, and flour and baking powder, mix thoroughly.

Put it in a baking pan, after that you need another thick cream and you need to put the cream all over the dough but in the shape of a TIC TAC TOE game, put it in the oven for 30 minutes until ready and crunchy...

For the sugar syrup (sheera)

In a pot, 2 glasses sugar, one glass water, mix and boil until the syrup thickens, once u achieve your desirable texture, remove from heat, add a squeeze of lemon, and a drop of vanilla. then add it on your basbousa.
